Tractor Distribution Ceremony in Lahore

Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the farmers of Punjab and announced several important schemes and initiatives in her recent speech. The speech was held at the Rice Research Institute in Kalashah Kaku.

“Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz, I want to congratulate from the bottom of my heart those 1,000 farmers who grew historic wheat crops and are now getting these tractors for free. I asked the brothers with whom I have just given tractors. I said, ‘Did you have a tractor before?’ I used to rent it. I dreamed of having your own tractor. You all should have your own tractor. Congratulations to you all. In addition, these are 1,000 free tractors that you have received as a reward for growing record wheat. I promise you that you will grow your crops without fear. I will not let you suffer any loss. So, thank God, today, without increasing the price of flour, I have given direct subsidy to the farmer. The support price is Rs. 5,000. Instead of that, I should say that Rs. 4,000 is the support price. Which is 12 acres and more.  There are wheat farmers, I am delivering Rs. 5,000 per acre to their homes through Kisan Card. This is a support price, which does not involve any middleman. This is going directly to the farmer. Whoever has grown 10 acres of wheat is getting Rs. 50,000. Whoever has planted 12 acres of wheat is getting Rs. 60,000 from me.
